Our Eclectic D400 Windmill delivers a punch of power in a very robust, well designed and engineered unit. The Eclectic D400 Windmill is a robust unit and being designed with a 1.1 meter (43”) rotor consisting of 5 extremely durable, computer designed aerofoil blades the D400 is the quietest windmill the Mad Dogs have ever seen or encountered. With a design encompassing a maintenance free concept, the Eclectic D400 Windmill is a direct-drive wind generator, built, and very suitable, for both marine and land-based applications. Exceptionally quiet and vibration free, Tthe Mad Dogs can leave the windmill running night and day without ever being disturbed by noisy blades or vibrations transmitted to the hull. The D400 wind generator uses a very powerful and efficient 3-phase permanent-magnet alternator, coupled to computer designed aerofoils (blades) optimized for low-speed to deliver power in even the lightest of breezes. While extremely efficient in low winds, the Eclectic D400 windmill is equally suited to maintain and sustain up to 500 watts of power output in winds in excess of 30 – 40 knots. The cast aluminum body is designed with large integrated cooling fins while the internal heavy duty encapsulated windings can easily withstand running in a 50 knot wind all day long.
