Starry Flounder
About this image: Starry, starry night....
While anchored in Bartlett Cove, Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska, we dropped down the hook a few times. A little nibble and a strike and this Starry Flounder gave himself up. He was a relatively small fish (from a meaty point of view) so we threw him back. We hadn't caught a Starry Flounder before, so we thought we'd add him to the Page of Fame.
Another halibut from Bartlett Cove in Alaska Glacier Bay National Park
About this image: Hey Ma, look what I found....
While in Bartlett Cove, Alaska, we did hook this Halibut. Being of a nice size and delicious meat we decided he was a keeper. Once cleaned and dressed he was about 4 meals worth of fish (or 2 meals and a few snacks...)
Another halibut from Sandy Cove in Alaska Glacier Bay National Park
About this image: Dean posing with the prize in South Sandy Cove
This halibut was caught in South Sandy Cove, Glacier Bay Park, Alaska. Halibuts in this size range seemed quite common while in Alaska. This is a really nice size as they are easy to bring on board, and clean up quickly. "Get out the cook book, we're having halibut tonight!"

Salmon
About this image: Finally some variety...
We couldn't remember where this photo and this nice looking Chinook Salmon was caught, but we can tell you that it was tasty in a top secret Mad Dog recipe.
Looks like a halibut, taste like a halibut...
About this image: Guess what I caught...
On our second day in Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska we stayed in Blue Mouse Cove. This was a nice area, very quiet and picturesque. We dropped the anchor, made a coffee, sat out in the cockpit and dropped the hook. Within seconds "WHAM" we had a bite! This halibut, not knowing the fishing rules, took the "wrong" kind of lure, there was no bait on the hook, and we were even used the wrong fishing rod. If this is a sign of things going wrong - bring on the trouble!!
Salmon in Prince Rupert, BC, Canada
About this image: Smile for the camera
This Chinook Salmon was caught in Canadian waters on our trip from Prince Rupert, BC, Canada to Dundas Island. Prince Rupert is a favorite location for sport fishing. We, on the other hand, decided "Well while we're here anyhow, and we have space in the freezer..." Some went to the freezer and some went to the lunch plate as Sashimi. While Sashimi in a Japanese sushi bar is good, Sashimi fish from the ocean on your sailboat is great!
