About this image: Basking in
the glow of the early morning sun
This morning in Scidmore Bay was one that “Cruising Dreams”
are made of! The sun rose to clear blue skies, the water was
absolutely glass smooth, there wasn't a hint of wind and
there was no noise except for the occasional bird. In the
midst of all of this serenity, we enjoyed a morning coffee
and a batch of “fresh from the oven and still warm” scones.
Ahhh, what a life!. We have several very nice photos
available from this location but we only have limited space
to show all the photos |

About this image:
And to the other side – Guillied Peak
During our breakfast, a quick turn of the head revealed
Guillied Peak and the surrounding areas bathed in the same
sunlight (but with a few insignificant high clouds). |

About this image:
Grizzly (Alaskan Brown) bear walking the shore
As we quietly cruised along we saw this (seemingly) young
Grizzly tromping along. He walked along the shore for a
while and then into the underbrush, back to shore again,
back in the underbrush, until he didn't come out any more.

About this image:
And to the West - Scidmore Glacier
Standing seemingly alone amongst smaller peaks, Scidmore
Glacier is a very wide reaching glacier with many arms of
ice travelling out in several different directions. Scidmore
Glacier is another glacier that ends high in the mountain
and never touches the edge of the water. |

About this image:
An up close shot of Scidmore Glacier
This up-close shot shows evidence of the cracking and
sliding as a reminder of gravity's constant exertion on the
glacial ice pack. In this photo, Scidmore Glacier is
shadowed by another ridge in front of it which bears only
low brushes and appeared to be made up primarily of loose
material as is apparent by the valleys eroded into it's face
by rain and spring snow melt. |

About this image:
“Hey widebody, move it!”
Not every photo is flattering, and this one is no different.
This older (and heavier...) grizzly lumbered along, not even
bothering to acknowledge us with a glance or a nod.. |
