Pacific White-sided Dolphins
About this image: Another look at the Pacific White-sided Dolphins
Here's another look at the cool coloring of the Pacific White-sided Dolphins passing us on our starboard (right) side. The coloring of the fin and the dorsal stripe down the side are a real contrast to the sleek black bodies and the pure white bellies. The Pacific White-sided Dolphin is known for swimming like a shark with only it's dorsal fin sticking out of the water, slicing it's way through the surface.

About this image: A look behind us at the Dolphins
This is the final look at the last of the pod of Dolphins before they sped away ahead of us and vanished from our sight.
Red Rock Crab
About this image: A little crabby today?
Here's a quick look at a couple of the Red Rock Crabs that were making their way to the dinner table tonight. As we had just recently gotten underway and everything was still stowed and packed away (including the crab trap), the adventurous crew of Mad Dog Voyager headed out in the inflatable catamaran dinghy to do a little crab catching by hand. Once you get the system down pat and figure out (real quick!) the right way to grab and hold onto the crabs it's a snap to catch them this way. Mmmm, nothing like fresh seafood straight from the water.
Brünu & Yvonne from the Swiss sailing yacht Momo
About this image: Sailing Yacht Momo
This is the Sailing Yacht Momo from Switzerland. Yvonne & Bruno (Brünu) were travelling with us on the trip up to Glacier Bay Park in Alaska. You can see Yvonne standing near the stern of Momo checking if the rain is letting up. We were near the Yaculta Rapids waiting for the right time to enter and pass through the rapids. There were 5 rapids that need to be traversed in succession to take advantage of the current and tide. The whole thing went through without a hitch.

About this image: Planning the next few days
Yvonne & Bruno from the Swiss sailing yacht Momo, Kikka & Andreas from the Italian sailing yacht Mai Stracc and Dean from Mad Dog Voyager checking out the charts, books and Pilot Guides to make travel plans for the next few days, Some of the people look very intense, others are wondering when the coffee and dessert are showing up.

About this image: Sailing Yacht Mai Stracc
This is the Italian Sailing Yacht Mai Stracc, home of Kikka, Andreas and their cat. Kikka and Andreas were also traveling to Alaska and Glacier Bay, but they were on a tighter schedule than Mad Dog or Momo and soon went ahead. Here they are nearing the rapids by Yaculta. Anyone seen the suntan lotion? Anyone seen the sun??
